Make the Switch & Help Your Community
If 5 or more Rhinebeckers purchase an EV from August 25 to December 31 2023, the Village and Town of Rhinebeck will each get a $5000 grant from NYSERDA!
Or you can email Trustee Vanessa Bertozzi to let her know if you make a purchase: email trusteebertozzi@villageofrhinebeckny.gov.
Here are some helpful handouts from our Clean Energy Communities rep and very special EV-enthusiast, my 11-year-old son (!):
Drive Clean NY Rebate Fact Sheet - Did you know you can get up to $2000 from NY State?
Electric Vehicle Guide - A visual catalogue of EVs and plug-in hybrids sorted from least expensive, plus a charger 101. Did you know you can get up to $7500 from the Federal government?
5 Reasons to Consider an Electric Car - 1 pager
Great New EVs to Buy - A list of new models with range, safety ratings and cargo space, compiled by Lucky Duzyj
The Village and Town governments are partnering on this campaign as part of our Clean Energy Communities program under NYSERDA.
EV-Curious Event
Making the switch to an electric vehicle can feel daunting. On Saturday, September 23, 11am-2pm, we hosted a meetup where you could come check out over a dozen of your neighbors' EVs and hybrids and go for a ride. Get your questions answered from folks who have made the switch. Ruge's was on hand with 4 shiny new models.
More fun on the 23rd:
Free ice cream from Mr. Ding-a-ling, sponsored by the PTSO and partner tabling, including Sinterklaas (donate your gently used clothing for their upcoming Love It or Swap It fundraiser), Rhinebeck Science Foundation, donations for seasonal mums with PTSO, and Starr Library with their book bike. Felix and Friends, local father-son accordion duo will perform as well!
Organized by the Village’s Climate Smart Rhinebeck Task Force. Sponsored by the Village and Town Boards of Rhinebeck.
This programming is our contribution to the Hudson Valley's annual Climate Solutions Week.
