Village Compost, our municipal food waste pilot, invites you to come scoop a hefty sample of some “black gold.” Use it on your garden, lawn, or even potted plants. Free, while supplies last (don’t worry, there’s a huge pile!). Residents of the Village and Town are welcome.
Just bring a tote or buckets or a sturdy cardboard box. (Trash bags aren’t strong enough—we learned that the hard way). We’ll provide the shovels.
Climate Smart Task Force will be on hand to tell you about the pilot and our plans for the program. We’ll be drawing names from a hat to win a cute “too good to waste” t-shirt.
Parking Directions: We are hosting this at the Rhinebeck Village Highway Dept. 282 Rte 308. IMPORTANT: Enter at Violet Hill Rd. entrance (see map on attached flyer), NOT the rte 308 entrance.
