We’re challenging the Rhinebeck community to take the pledge to go car free (or car lite) for the day! If your family has school children, join us for an organized biking and walking to school event on September 22, 2021.
Sign up to volunteer (fill out the form ideally by September 15). We need crossing guards and folks to donate baked goods and fruit. Thank you in advance!
Climate Smart Rhinebeck is encouraging our community to participate in Car Free Day – an international event with the goal of reducing traffic congestion and improving mobility and sustainability. Car Free Day 2021 will be celebrated across New York State on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. To participate, take the pledge, and then go car free or car light on September 22 by riding a bus, carpooling, biking, walking, combining trips, driving an electric vehicle, teleworking…Or if you’re commuting to New York City, taking a ferry, subway, or train* – it’s that easy!
Rhinebeck Central School district students are also invited to walk or ride their bikes to school on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. Our plan is to meet up at Lions Mini Park in the morning. Parents and grown-up community members, please sign up to volunteer .
When you take the pledge, you’ll help Climate Smart Rhinebeck get recognized for our sustainability efforts, and get closer to our SILVER certification! Already car free? That’s great! Your pledge will still contribute to Climate Smart Rhinebeck’s sustainability goals. Learn more and take the pledge: 511nyrideshare.org/carfreeday
